As a Catholic, I am encouraged by President Bush's commitment to his faith. He
is a man who leads by conviction and his relationship with God influences not
only his life, but his priorities as our leader in the War on Terror. I have
spent time with President Bush and I have come to know him as a compassionate
and thoughtful leader. I applaud his support for traditional marriage, tax
relief for working families, efforts to fight Global AIDS, and his belief that
everyone should have the chance to live the American dream of opportunity.
President Bush understands the value of every human life and has shown his
devotion to preserving the traditional values that have shaped our great nation.
He and I have worked together on the Faith-Based and Community Initiative that
has created opportunities for those who are less fortunate to receive the
services they need. I believe that President Bush is the right man to continue
to lead us, at home and abroad, to a time of peace and prosperity.
Carl Anderson Supreme Knight, Knights of Columbus In his
welcoming remarks to President Bush at the 122nd Annual Convention:
Today is our opportunity on behalf of the nearly 1.7 million members of the
Knights of Columbus and their families to say, ‘Thank you, Mr. President.
Thank you for restoring moral integrity to the office of the presidency. Thank
you for recognizing the importance of faith-based institutions to the vitality
of our nation. Thank you for respecting the role of Catholic schools and for
insisting that no child be left behind by our educational system. Thank you for
your defense of the words ‘under God’ in our Pledge of Allegiance .Thank you
for your defense of unborn children and for signing the Partial Birth Abortion
Act. And thank you for your defense of marriage as the union of a man and a
woman and your support for the Federal Marriage Amendment.

I love our President! George W. Bush is a leader in the truest sense of the
word. He leads -- not by poll taking or flip-flopping or constituency-pleasing,
but by conviction. He promotes the culture of life because he believes in the
culture of life. He believes – strongly -- in the God-given dignity and
importance of every human person, and he translates that belief into action, and
into policy. That takes courage.
President Bush may not be the Catholic candidate in this election, but he is
most definitely the Catholic’s candidate!
Fr. Frank Pavone National Director, Priests for Life
President, National Pro-life Religious Council
I have never been more certain in my mind or more enthusiastic in my choice for
a candidate than for President George W. Bush in 2004. He is a decisive,
consistent, courageous leader, who relies on God and takes every step with the
help of prayer. One of the many reasons I am grateful to him is that his
leadership has brought progress in the long and arduous task of restoring
protection to the most vulnerable human beings, the unborn. This task, which the
Catholic Church has identified as the most urgent moral priority of our day, has
been advanced by the President's legislative priorities - such as banning
partial-birth abortion - and by other steps he has taken, such as including
unborn children in state health insurance programs. In numerous ways, he has
laid the groundwork for the eventual elimination of the violence of abortion.
"I have served as an official at the Vatican, and I can say with certainty
that the President understands and embodies the moral teaching of the Catholic
Church - in this and other areas as well -- far better than his opponent, who
claims to be Catholic.
Robert P. George Professor, Princeton University, Member
of the President’s Council on Bioethics
The President's commitment to protecting human life in all stages and conditions
inspires his friends and enrages his enemies. I know of no leader who is more
determined than George W. Bush to ensure that biotechnology remains the servant
of man, not his master. I stand with President Bush.

Americans don’t just elect a president; we elect a party and its people, who
will fill the federal government for years—and the appellate bench for
decades. A second Bush administration will give Catholics an unprecedented
opportunity to help create a new governing majority informed by the riches of
Catholic social doctrine. That cannot be done in the Democratic Party. And that
is yet another reason to vote for a good, decent and brave man, George W. Bush,
the Methodist who gets the Catholic vision better than does his Catholic
opponent.
